WEST FOOTSCRAY SECURE THE VICTORY
West Footscray have secured a 14.12(96) to 10.5(65) victory over Tarneit in a thrilling Rookie Me Division 3 match.
The game remained relatively close throughout the first three quarters, with West Footscray in the lead by 17-points going into the fourth.
Tarneit fought hard for the victory, but West Footscray proved too good, consistently returning Tarneit’s goals.
Matthew Turcinovich was lead goal-scorer for West Footscray kicking four goals and Joshua Bird (West Footscray) and Jayden Osbourne (Tarneit) both played an excellent game, being named best on ground for their respective teams.
The Suns have prevailed over Albanvale in a 10-point win 9.13(67) to 11.11(77) after an exceptionally close match.
Albanvale held the pressure on the Suns, never allowing the lead to get too great, but the pressure was no match for Suns gun Daniel Hovey, who kicked eight of their eleven goals.
Christopher Lear had a great game for the Suns, being named best on field. Additionally, Matthew Taylor was Albanvale’s lead goal-scorer with three goals and Jackson Smith was named best on field after a stunning performance.
Sunshine Heights have defeated North Sunshine in a thumping 2.13(25) to 26.17(173) victory.
North Sunshine fought hard and played well to stay in the game, but Sunshine Heights came out on top in the end with best on field’s Kyall Parker scoring ten goals.
Brodie Haines for North Sunshine was named best on field for his squad and his teammates Michael Teuira and Brodie Raines both kicked a goal.
