WFNL Board Director – Expression of Interest
The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) plays a vital role in Melbourneā€™s west through fostering community spirit via Australian Rules Football and Netball. We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Board of Directors. This independent governance role is crucial in ensuring the League’s strategic direction, financial health, and continued growth.
As we continue our commitment to making a meaningful impact, we are looking for a Board Director with specific expertise to enhance our diverse leadership and strategic capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
As a collective, the WFNL Board is responsible for the independent governance of the League, including:
- Strategic Oversight: Reviewing, developing, and approving the League’s Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan to ensure alignment with our mission and vision. WFNL Strategic Plan can be found HERE.
- Financial Stewardship: Adopting the WFNL’s annual budget and diligently monitoring financial performance and management.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Developing and overseeing robust risk management practices and ensuring full compliance with all legal and legislative obligations.
- Organisational Leadership: Providing clear leadership and direction for the League, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ensuring the League remains responsive and accountable to its clubs, players, officials, sponsors, volunteers and broader stakeholders including sporting governing bodies, state/local governments etc.
- Operational Monitoring: Continuously monitoring the operating environment to identify and respond to both risks and opportunities.
