WFNL Partners with Concussion Central
The Western Football Netball League is proud to announce a new two-year partnership with Concussion Central, reinforcing our commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of participants across our football and netball competitions.
Concussion Central is a specialist physiotherapy service dedicated exclusively to helping people recover from concussion and dizziness, with multiple clinics located across Melbourne’s western suburbs. We provide evidence-based assessment, treatment, education and return-to-play support for concussed athletes of all ages, helping people recover safely and get back to the activities that matter most.
Global Concussion Expert and Founder and Director at Concussion Central said: “We are incredibly excited to partner with the Western Football Netball League and work together to further enhance player safety, strengthen concussion education and management, and help ensure players across the league receive the best possible support throughout their concussion recovery.”
As a leader in concussion education, awareness and management, Concussion Central provides Member Clubs, participants, and families with access to trusted, evidence-based resources and support. This partnership will help ensure our Member Clubs are equipped with the latest information and best-practice guidance to manage concussion safely and effectively.
Player welfare remains a top priority for the WFNL, and partnering with an organisation at the forefront of concussion care is an important step in continuing to create safe and positive sporting environments.
WFNL Chief Executive Officer David Jennings welcomed the partnership and the benefits it will provide to Clubs and participants across the League.
“The WFNL is proud to partner with Concussion Central to further strengthen the health, safety, and wellbeing of our participants.
Concussion management is an important priority for the League, and this partnership will provide our Member Clubs with access to trusted education, resources and support. We are confident that Megan Hamilton and the team at Concussion Central will help our Clubs build greater awareness and understanding of concussion, ensuring participants can enjoy our game in the safest possible environment”.
Through this partnership, the WFNL and Concussion Central will work together to increase awareness of concussion, support best-practice management and provide Member Clubs with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions when participant welfare is concerned.
We are excited to welcome Concussion Central to the WFNL and look forward to working together to support our Member Clubs and participants over the next two years.
