By Evan Tudor

Suns v Werribee Centrals

Round 11 of the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women competition opens with Friday night football at Goddard Street Reserve as the Suns and Werribee Centrals clash.

With just six weeks left to play in the home and away season and with both sides in the hunt for a finals ticket, a fierce battle is on the cards.

The Suns will be hoping it can steer its 5-5 season record onto a path of more wins, with the side going down to the Falcons by 28 points last weekend.

Mandy Seath will look to continue her fine goalkicking form along with Danielle Woods, while Bonnie Lea Brown and Zoe Court will look to continue consistent performances.

After recent matches called off by opponent forfeits, Werribee Centrals will look to add another win to its impressive 8-1 record.

There’s a lot of talent to draw upon within the Centrals camp, with Kyleisha Kinces a recent highlight after booting 15 goals in a four-week period and is a standout alongside Julia Nash, who has been named the Centurions best in six out of nine matches.

When the Suns and Centurions last met in Round 4, it was the Centurions who walked away with the chocolates in a thrilling nine-point victory.

Laverton v Parkside Spurs

A top four clash will take place at Laverton Park to open Saturday’s action as Laverton Magpies challenges Parkside Spurs.

The Spurs enter this match as the only undefeated team remaining in the 2026 campaign, with a 10-0 record highlighting their dominance.

The Magpies will be looking to regroup and refocus after a third-consecutive loss, with dominant wins in the season’s opening half proving what they’re capable of.

An exciting battle will play out on the field between some key goalkickers.

With 28 goals to her name, Aleisha Casley is currently just two majors away from taking the lead in the competition’s goalkicking table and hasn’t missed the big sticks all season.

Laverton will look to prevent another Casley masterclass with Kayla Ravanello (22), Jaime Sawers (19), and Molly Pianta (18) all displaying strong totals so far.

Parkside may appear too good at this stage, but Laverton won’t be backing down without a fight.

Shae-Lee Murphy-Burke and Sina Mason have featured in all ten Magpies matches this season and have been named the Pies’ best on eight occasions.

They’ll add some riveting talent to this match as they face off against Parkside’s Taquila Angel and Rita Ceravolo, who have both earnt nine best-on appearances.

Will Laverton be able to end the Spurs’ streak, or will Parkside continue to march on?

Wyndhamvale v Caroline Springs

Wyndhamvale will look to continue to put wins on the board when it welcomes Caroline Springs to Wyndhamvale South Reserve.

The Falcons enter this contest following another defeat to Parkside, while the Lakers will be rearing to return to the field after last weekend’s forfeited match.

When the sides last met in Round 3, the Falcons flexed their muscles in a dominant victory that saw both sides hit the scoreboard.

The Falcons boast Larissa Renaut who leads the division’s goalkicking competition with a staggering 29 majors from 10 weeks.

Jessica Spall has also been impressive with her 20 from 10, while Chloe Prior will look to continue a brilliant season that has seen her be named the Falcon’s best on eight occasions.

The Lakers will be hoping it can return to the WFNL playing field and make the most of the afternoon despite the results they’ve endured in the past few weeks.

Jessica Mercieca has been an impressive Laker to watch with six best-on listings from nine games, highlighting her as one of the side’s standouts.

Yarraville Seddon v Point Cook Centrals

Yarraville Oval will play host to Yarraville Seddon’s clash with Point Cook Centrals.

In what is a clash between the sixth and eighth placed sides, both the Eagles and Sharks will be hungry to put on as many wins as possible with finals spots still on the line.

For Yarraville Seddon, it’ll be hoping it can put some scores on the board after it was held to zip against Parkside Spurs.

It’s been a rocky season so far for the Eagles, with the blue, red, and gold finding themselves on both sides of the scoreboard on many occasions.

Akec Makur Chuot has been an integral part of the Eagles side in season 2026, with the club’s leading goalkicker finding the big sticks on 22 separate occasions.

She’s accompanied by Emily Heaney and Pippa Nolan in featuring on the side’s best-on list six times.

Will Point Cook Centrals be able to keep its momentum rolling after last weekend’s 123-point win over North Footscray?

The Sharks will be hoping so.

With some strong wins and tough losses under their belt, Centrals will eager to see another win on the board.

Zoe Hurring leads the way with eight majors in 2026 so far and was one of six to score multiple last weekend.

If the Sharks can wriggle their way onto the board early, an exciting contest might be on the cards.

North Footscray v West Footscray

Local rivals will meet once again as North Footscray and West Footscray clash at Hansen Reserve in Saturday twilight action.

The Roosters took the chocolates when the sides last met on Anzac Day and will hope to make it 2-0 against the Devils in 2026.

North Footscray is yet to pick up a win in its maiden senior women’s season, but the Devils should be proud of their efforts that see the team take to the field each week, putting majors on the board of recent times.

Amy Duggan has been one of the Devils’ standouts in its inaugural campaign with three goals and a staggering eight best-on performances to her name.

West Footscray is one of four sides that currently rests on a 5-5 record.

The Roosters are certainly in the mix for a finals appearance, but more wins on the board would help see the side rise up the ladder.

Layla Dawkins has been named one of West Footscray’s best in the past nine matches, while Julia McPhee has also been a key performer with eight.

Juri Graco-Ilves starred for the Roosters last weekend with a bag of five majors and has an opportunity to make an impact on the scoreboard again.
