WFNL SET FOR BIG YEAR OF NETBALL
The WFNL Netball Competition is set to be bigger and better in 2024 with 58 teams across seven divisions taking to the court this season.
This year’s competition begins next Friday night (April 12) starting with the first of four weeks of grading matches, of which fixtures will be released one week at a time.
With an increase from 44 teams to 58 teams, matches will be played at two locations in 2024 – Whitten Oval Community Sports Stadium and Footscray Park Fitness & Aquatic Centre.
Following the grading process teams will be placed in seven divisions, up from six in 2023, with a 16-week home and away season to follow.
The last regular season round will be played on Friday 16th August with finals to then commence on Friday 23rd August.
Last year saw Point Cook Centrals win the Division 1 premiership with the Sharks the only club to claim two flags after also collecting the Division 6 title.
