WOMEN & GIRLS UMPIRE ACADEMY

The WRFL is excited to launch the Women & Girls Umpire Academy in January 2024.

 

This free academy will be held at Saltwater Reserve, Point Cook, to be led by AFLW Boundary Umpire & 2023 AFLW Umpiring Rising Star winner Melissa Sambrooks. All Women and Girls over the age of 12 are invited to join and participate in this wonderful opportunity. There will be five sessions during the season, comprising umpiring and leadership activities, along with special guest speakers.

 

WRFL Head of Umpiring Steve Keating is excited to introduce this academy to our league. “We are committed to having more Women and Girls involved across every aspect of our league – not just playing but also looking to boost our numbers of Women and Girls in umpiring roles this upcoming season!”.
