WRFL ANNOUNCES THREE NEW APPOINTMENTS
The Western Region Football League, soon to be renamed the Western Football Netball League (WFNL) is pleased to announce the following appointments: Dom Lammardo to Manager – Junior Football; Justin Jenvey to Media & Communications Manager; and Luke Henry to General Manager – Operations.
Dom commenced at the WFNL in 2022 as the Football & Netball Operations Officer and moved into the role of Manager – Junior Football at the start of this year.
In his previous role, he managed the Senior Netball competition while also providing administrative and operational support to both the Junior Football Manager and General Manager – Operations.
Prior to joining the WFNL he worked for AFL Victoria as a Participation Coordinator in the Western Region where his remit included growing junior participation, as well as having football experience with the GWS Giants as an AFLW Scout and at VFL level with Williamstown in Match Day Analytics.
Justin joins the league after almost three years at VFL club Werribee where he held the title of Communications Coordinator.
With a journalism qualification and a passion for community sport, Justin took a keen interest in football and netball in the West while at Werribee, gaining intimate knowledge of the WFNL in recent years.
He has previously been involved in community football and netball as a player, committee member and coach.
Luke will join the WFNL from the Southern Football Netball League, where he was the Football & Administrator Coordinator, a position he held since 2020.
He has a Diploma of Sports Development from SEDA and has held previous roles at the Collingwood Football Club in Membership Services and on match day as the VFLW Team Manager.
Luke will bring with him the experience and knowledge of successfully delivering a senior football and netball competition, including upholding the integrity of the By-Laws, fixturing and grading, tribunal procedures, and the administration of the player points and player payment rules.
WFNL CEO David Jenning said the new appointments were extremely pleasing for the League.
“The League conducted a thorough recruitment process for all roles, and we focused on finding the right applicants who understood community sport and the challenges that clubs and volunteers face,” he said.
“Dom’s promotion to the position of Manager – Junior Football was a natural fit as he has worked on several key football projects with the League and AFL Victoria over the past three years and knows the Western Region very well.
“And we are delighted to appoint both Justin and Luke given their experience in community sport and their professional acumen working in a similar environment and roles, with both joining us well prepared to hit the ground running.”
