WRFL TO COMMEMORATE ANZAC DAY
The Western Region Football League will commemorate Anzac Day this weekend, with several clubs marking the occasion.
The weekend is a chance for all clubs to pay tribute to the Australian servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice as well as pay their respects to those who are currently serving.
In TIV Division 1, Altona will host Spotswood on Anzac Day Eve, for a special night game at Simonds Oval.
A commemorative service will be held at 7.15pm before the game officially starts at 7.30pm.
On Sunday, two Senior games will be played. The first will the Victoria University Polytechnic Senior Women’s match between Werribee Central and Spotswood. The game will be played at 10am at Galvin Park.
In the afternoon, Braybrook will host North Sunshine at Pennell Reserve, for their traditional Anzac Day clash.
A ceremony will be held prior to the game at 1.30pm.
Round 3 of the WRFL Juniors competition will also be played on Sunday.
